Loyola Hearn was born in the tiny fishing village of Renews where he received his early education. After graduating from high school he began his studies at Memorial University and the University of New Brunswick.  In 1969 he graduated from Memorial and returned to begin a successful teaching career in Renews, where he currently resides with his wife, Maureen.  They have two children, Laurita who is married to Jonathan Miller, and David who is in his  third year of studies at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia.  The Hearns also have a beautiful grandchild, Annelise Miller.
