School Council
Parents are again reminded that volunteers will be needed to fill positions on the School Council for this school year.  This Council is designed to serve primarily in an advisory capacity to promote better relations between school and community.  It is an opportunity for you as parents and members of the community to become involved in the education of your children and the decision making of your high school.  Please give consideration to such a wonderful opportunity and submit your name to the school by October 27 - 3:00 p.m.

have work assigned in classes that should be completed at home.  While students may not have written homework assigned in every class there is always work assigned for study following every class in high school.  We ask that parents be diligent in making sure that students are completing homework and doing home study on the occasions when written homework may not be assigned.

Softball Update
The Laval Boys won the Regional Championship earlier this month by defeating Ferryland 12-2.  They competed in the Provincial Championship last weekend in Carbonear and recorded 1 win with 3 losses.    Mr. O'Reilly would like to congratulate all the players on their fine behaviour and sportsmanship.  A special thank you to Mr. Dick O'Reilly, Mr. Andy Ennis, Mr. Fintan Mullaley, and Mr. Fred Mills for donating their time and vehicles to help the team with transportation and to the other parents who attended for their support.

Special thanks to Mr. Paul King and the Laval girls slow-pitch softball team for hosting the Provincial 4A tournament in Dunville.  Even though the girls did not win, they showed great sportsmanship and represented our school in finestyle.
